Welcome

In this section, you will learn about the various fish you can expect to catch during the different seasons of the year on Hilton Head fishing charters, whether you're interested in offshore fishing or sport fishing.

6-8 Hr Wreck trip

These trips are typically for the beginners or clients that just want action and are not expecting to bring back fish to eat. The best time of year to go for big cobia is mid April into June. Summer months you can expect to catch Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Spade fish, Barracuda and large sharks. Winter months you target sheepshead and flounder.

8-10 Hr Bottom trip

These trips are suited for the clients that want to bring back great eating fish to load the freezer. Ranging 30-50 miles offshore in 80-100 ft of blue water you will be fishing over natural rocky reefs. These trips are good fishing year round for the bottom species such as Snapper, Trigger, Grouper, Porgy and seabass. When the pelagics such as mahi, wahoo, kings and cobia are migrating we may see them late spring through summer months as the water temps warm up. Winter months are best time for the large seabass.

10-12 Hr Trolling/Bottom trip

These trips are suited for the avid and adventurous fisherman. You really never know what you will find in the deep blue ocean. This trip takes you out to the gulf stream. 80-100 miles offshore you will be targeting pelagics such as Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, Marlin, Sailfish and swordfish. You start trolling 140ft out to 2000 feet. Spring is great time. End of April-june is great for the Mahi, Wahoo migration. May-August is great for bill fish. Fall and winter are great times as most pelagics are heading back south. Nov-Jan is a great time to go for all species. If trolling is slow we bottom fish half the day. The fish out in the deep are much bigger and well worth the trip. On average they are 4 times bigger than anywhere shallow. These trips truly are our favorites when you can be up against a 1000lb marlin and catching mahi non stop.
